City of Lobito

Rival with Luanda as the best city in Angola, it was founded in 1913 and has earned the nickname "City of flamingos." Like other industrialized cities in Angola, the downtown district that was built by Portuguese colonists is the most prosperous area, while the outlying hill districts are frequently squatter camps and shanty towns.
