> This building replaced the Otis Building. Well, not entirely. The facade covering the first four floors is covered with the original facade from the Otis Building. If you never look up, you'd never know this was a modern skyscraper and not another piece of classic Chicago architecture.

Rating: Two stars. What were the architects thinking? The exterior is not a blending but an incompatible clash of styles, neither sympathetic nor complementary to the other. i like both of the parts, but TOGETHER? Doesn't work. The interior (above the first floor) is definitely grade "B". Unimaginative design - even poor in the bathrooms-, low cost materials installed poorly, and unfortunately minimally maintained.

Rating: Four stars. This building exhibits a very nice blending of ornate early 20th century style masonry facade at the main lobby entrance with late 20th century steel and glass. I like it very much.
