B rick red is not a popular color for Chicago skyscrapers. But considering the location of this condo tower, it is appropriate, and a welcome change from the glass and steel boxes that seem to rise on every corner. The Columbian is evocative of the heritage skyscrapers that made Chicago great. Featuring a strong base, a prominent shaft and then upper-level setbacks that are reminiscent of the few remaining luxury residences that once lined Michigan Avenue in the Loop. In all, a good presentation with a warm feel.

I like how this building compliments older Chicago Skyscrapers. Nice addition to the city skyline.

I've been watching this building go up since the beginning. I'm really impressed with the way it breaks free from the new trend of the glass and steel buildings that are being built to its south. The brownish bricks with the scattered greenish window frames makes the building look very "earthy", and reminds me of those early adobe houses in Arizona. Its location is also top notch, as it's next to the Museum Campus and Millennium Park. I can't wait for it to be complete!

Very nice, very classy looking. Its nice to see that the older more traditional look is not dead. After all it was this look that got skyscrapers their start and fame, not tall steel cages with glass around them meant to look like space ships, cereal boxes, or rockets poised to take off.
