Rating: One star. I stayed at the Floridian 35 years ago what a lovely place. Please renovate. My time there was absolutely wonderful. At the time it was one of the tallest buildings in tampa.Until the Black windowed white trime Bank building was built.

Rating: Five stars. On November 18, 1963, a planned assassination of President Kennedy was aborted. Gunmen were supposed to kill the president from a window in this hotel, as his motorcade passed by below.At the last minute, the plan was aborted and the assassins drove hurriedly to Dallas, and killed the president four days later.

Rating: Four stars. Remembe rthat this is the first skyscraper in the city of Tampa (and I believe it was the tallest structure in Florida for several years). It is currently undergoing internal renovations and rehabilitation after decades of being vacant. The hotel will re-open sometime in the future.
