Also known as: 1 US Bank Plaza Built: 1976 Designed by: Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates Type: Skyscraper Stories: 35 Maximum Height: 484 feet / 148 meters Location: 505 North Seventh Street, Saint Louis, United States
B anks have always used their buildings to project their image. In the past monolithic stone and classical columns were used to portray an image of sophistication and safety. Today's US Bank tower in Saint Louis is a modern take on this age-old publicity move. One US Bank Plaza uses visible cross braces, sharp corners, and dark colors to impart modern masculinity and stability. This building does not soar. It is not graceful. And it is not meant to be. It is a solid, but not unfriendly presence, firmly rooted in the St. Louis skyline -- a default entity that does not need to attract attention to be noticed.
At the time of its completion, this was the tallest building in Saint Louis. It was surpassed in 1986 by One Bell Center.

Rating: Five stars. I like the design and shape of this building. It is very neat how every 3 floors has half an X on it, it reminds me of Erie On The Park in Chicago. The height is really cool as well.
