A nice, substantial addition to the Houston skyline. The 32-story tower is flat on one side, and features a long curve on the other, effectively making this a two-sided object. Its curves are accentuated by a grid over blue glass, similar to Enron Center South, but with a little more oomph. 24 stories will be offices. The rest is a parking garage, and lobby.
26 July, 2002 - The Calpine Center lands its first big tenant, other than Calpine, itself. The Houston Business Journal reports that the law firm of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue has leased the top two floors of the building.
5 June, 2003 - During a strong thunderstorm, insulating foam blocks are blown from the top of the not quite completed tower. They fall 32 stories to the street below, injuring no one.
