A nice expanse of glass is enclosed by a thick stone frame, conveying both a sense of fragility and strength. Its inner core plays with the light and changes while its strong outer shell maintains its appearance no matter what tricks the sun plays. This building combines the best of both elements to stand out without being flashy. It achieves a great sense of height through the addition of a false story or "hat" that is artistically, but not structurally significant. It imparts a sense of width through the use of alternating bands of Balmoral red granite from Finland with Rosa Porrino granite from Spain in between. The windows that are flush with the granite are bronzed to match, while the glass of the inner section is treated with silver for an entirely different look in the same light.
