How could a building constructed in 1929 be so lacking in adornments? All those setbacks are crying out for something like decorative urns or lamps at the corners.

I stayed at this hotel as a child in the 1960s. Old-school NYC hotel. Some rooms had a terrace with a view of the Empire State building. The neighborhood went into a sharp decline in the 1970s but has rebounded with the exceptional growth and gentrification of the area as Time Square rebuilt and redefined itself.
