The west-end of this building was city hall until a few years ago when the new city hall was built. This building has been used for movie location in many films and is currently being renovated to open sometime in the future for public viewing. The top floor used to be the county jail. When I first came to Phoenix in 1969 there was always a lot of noise coming from that top floor, there where arms dangling out the windows, I thought it was an insane asylum until I found out otherwise. No air conditioning.
