V isitors to this section are welcomed by a ceremonial gate similar to the one at the real Temple of Heaven (Tian Tan) in Beijing. The original temple south of the Forbidden City is where China's emperors would pray to the gods of the heavens. The main building here is a replica of the temple that is done up in intricate mosaic patterns. The original one is over 100 feet tall. This one is somewhat smaller, but no less impressive. Sequences of bright primary colors are mixed to create the illusion of all new colors for your eye. The detail is incredible. Inside the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest be sure to look up and admire the detailed work done on the domed ceiling. Even the support columns are ornamented. This is one of the best decorated pavilions in Epcot and is worth stopping by, especially since it is one of the less popular attractions and can provide relief from the crowds.
