Rating: Two stars. Situated on the California Plaza complex on Bunker Hill, just a few blocks from the Los Angeles County Superior Court and the Criminal Courts buildings, the Omni was originally called the Intercontinental, and was the hotel where jurors in the O.J. Simpson murder trial were sequestered. While the Omni is a comfortable upscale hotel inside, the exterior IMHO is unexceptional, and suffers in comparison to the distinctive twin Cal Plaza towers and even the low-rise Museum of Contemporary Art and Colburn School of Music structures adjacent to it. On the plus side, it's just steps away from the historic Angels Flight funicular railway.
