T his shopping mecca has become an example of American excess at its finest. 78 acres of shopping and entertainment make it difficult to thoroughly explore the complex in under two days. While MoA may seem like Valhalla to shopaholics in the United States, it pales in comparison to the gargantuan West Edmonton Mall in Alberta. If you're tired of shopping, there's a seven-acre amusement park, an aquarium, and dozens of restaurants.

  • The mall has 400 stores with 12,000 employees.
  • There is 2,500,000 square feet of retail space.
  • 35-40 million people visit the mall each year, spending an average of three hours in the mall

  • 14 June, 1989: Groundbreaking.
