Rating: Five stars. As a Retired Soldier, I watched the events fold on that horrific day. I was flabergasted and wanted revenge. After those thoughts, my family and I prayed for those who were there in that peril. as ADMIRAL YAMAMOTA said "ALL WE DID WAS WAKE A SLEEPING GIANT AND FILL HIM WITH A TERRIBLE RESOLVE." Those terrorists did precisely that. I pray everyday for those who perished that day, shed a tear for them and hope that we catch those infadels. Rating: Five stars. Like the many postings below, I too think that the buildings should have been rebuilt. I visited the observation deck in 1976 and many times since. My last visit with my sons was in 1999. The experience of putting your toes up against the floor to ceiling glass windows made you feel like you were flying. Having the second tower you could see offered a sense of scale was an important part of the experience. I liked the bold parallel lines of the stainless steel ribs that soared to the top and created a stylized Gothic arch two stories above the plaza. You could see these buildings from just about everywhere in the NYC area. I miss being able to see it in the distance as you looked downtown on Sixth from Mid-town.

This act will not be forgotten, and whilst there are thsoe who may squabble over the legalities of our nation's current wars one thing remains strong, freedom will win - Britian and America have fought side by side for 70 years against those who persecute and discriminate, those who control and manipulate and those who commit unspeakable acts and masacre those because of their beliefs or colour of their skin. Liberty and Democracy are choices - but choices which everyone should have the right to make! Long live America and Long live Britain - together defending the ideals of freedom!

I was so moved with all the volunteer rescue workers that help clean the rubble & search for bodies....they truly are the hand of god!! Rating: Four stars. The U.S. gives to countries of need and helps when needed, why we were able to get help to sri lanka faster than we were able to get help to New Orleans, anyway, what does that have to do with the twin towers.??They were the most beautiful buildings, offering a sight maybe an insight into what was in front of you, if you looked deep and far enough you might see a light or a thousand lights. Day or night, the beauty, the the Brooklyn Bridge, several comments above indicate less, but, these, people have obviously never known freedom, peace, love, friendship and peace of heart. GOD BLESS AMERICA. and I pray for every soldier who serves, and gives and the people who write the negative.Your brother, sister, friend, could have been in that building

Newyork is my favourite city in the whole world...its better to build two freedom towers instead of one, and its better to capture osama bin laden (the cockroach) and bring him to the top of freedom tower then thrown him out and let the world see what will happen to him. by the way osama bin laden is not a hero as some people think, He is a criminal, he distort the meaning of islam.islam is the religion of peace. god bless america and every place else.

Rating: Five stars. It is hard to imagine that it has been 5 years since my immediate family and I visited NYC (including the warmth of the NYC people) and the WTC area 5 months before terrorists destroyed the towers and the general area and murdered almost 3000 people. 3000 people from many countries here in this country to work, to live, to be apart of the American dream and to represent various nations and companies. Even though we may not live and work in NYC, my family has been and will always profoundly saddened about this dark event in our history, but also proud of the american spirit to grief about the fallen heroes, while rebuilding a new structure to represent America and the heroes. Having a law enforcement and military background, I will continue to have a brotherhood with the men and women that protect and serve the people of this nation, as well as, defend the innocent from criminals... foreign and domestic. God Bless America... My home sweet home.

Rating: Five stars. I had the great privilege of working in the World Trade Centers, and happened not to be present on the day they were destroyed. Let me say that the buildings were heroic in themselves, in that they allowed 90% of their occupants at the time of the attacks to get to safety before they succumbed to the unbelievable heat of the fires within them. The firefighters and everyone involved did everything they could, but it was a day of destiny. I believe that our best course of action will be to build the towers back as they were, except to offset them so that the footprints of the original towers are left undisturbed- that is now hallowed ground. The new towers should be 120 stories, and should employ cage frame construction rather than open floor. They should be the tallest structures ever constructed, have the best evacuation and safety features in the world, and be protected by the most advanced defense system ever devised from both air and ground attack. This is a goal that I believe our nation, despite its flaws still the greatest this world has ever seen, can accomplish. Thank you.

These terrorists were only jealous that they cant ever have anything like those in their homeland! Let them be cursed! I think the new towers are looking good though (well on paper). Inonly hope that they will become the biggest once again in the world, fight off the tough competition in Asia and Dubai. Let New York hold the title of the World's tallest building... where it belongs! LAND OF THE FREE... HOME OF THE BRAVE!!

It is still upseting what hapened that sunny day in september, just the other day i was watching a movie called armageddon and a meteor shower hit NYC, they showed a view of the skyline after the shower hit, the crysler bldg. was in ruin, and the top 10 floors of of the south tower were halfway demolished and halfway burning, and many of the other skyscrapers were burning or were falling to the ground, it made me realize how unpredictable nature could be and how quickly such a mighty city could be deystroyed. Three and a half years ago the trade center was taken from me.It left a hole in my heart and in the sky. Many people were lost, many survived.Ostrages hide there heads in a hole in the ground, the proud the strong, place foundations in the holes in the ground and build great towers. The twin towers are gone. And in that great hole should be foundations for the rebirth of a strong, proud, tall, beautifull pair of towers that inspire the people not only of N.Y. but of the world.Concrete, glass and steel, mean nothing by themself but when formed by man these things can live forever both in thought and in body. The web shows many great new designs, updated, stronger, powerfull. Some are weak, empty, devoid of life.Build proud, strong not weak and empty. The time has come to STOP stalling and REBUILD the TWINS, MIGHTY,STRONG and TALL.WE as Americans Deserve nothing short of the very best.Time is waisting, REBUILD.

That day was one of the worst, if not THE worst, day of my life. I still pinch myself on occasion just to make sure it was a reality and not a nightmare. I regret never going inside the Twins or walking in the general area of the World Trade Complex and seeing the wonderful views from the observation decks and roof, or dining at Windows on the World overlooking the spectacular New York skyline. I did see them once in person, when I was a young kid, probably no older than 10 or 11, as I reached out the window of our family car on Church Street to witness these towering behemoths of beauty. Too bad I didn't take any family photos of these great landmarks, either. I remember back in July 2001, when I took a trip along with my Dad north from the Washington, D.C. area to pay a visit up at my Aunt's place in Edison, NJ, which is a suburb of NYC in northern NJ, and considering to see the Trade Center again, only this time spending more time in detail studying the complex from the interior. My Dad suggested to me that I could always see them another time, and unfortunately, I listened to his advice and I decided against taking a quick train ride up there on the NJ Transit and then the PATH to see them. Boy, if only we knew. I kick myself many times for not seeing them that summer. If only life could have a rewind function so that we could go back to that day, or days when other terrible things have occurred to each and every one of us in this world, and change destiny. Unfortunately, that's impossible. In regards to the new Freedom Tower being built, well it will be the tallest building in the world, surpassing Taipei 101 in Taiwan. The design isn't bad, although I think there's too much glass involved. I wish Larry Silverstein would've incorporated a twin so that it could be the Twin Freedom Towers, thus reflecting the World Trade Center. The memorial also seems as if it will be fitting, with the reflecting pools & the footprints of the Twin Towers. In the end, with all the chaos that happens daily in the world, from terrorism, murders, genocide, ethnic-cleansing, wars, mega-tsunamis and other natural disasters, to diseases, all I can really say is that life is short, so let's just enjoy life as much as we can, be better than the scum, take things for what they're worth and just ride this mother till' the wheels fall off!! May God bless all of the victims and the families involved in the 9/11 attacks in NYC, the Pentagon and the airliners hijacked, as well as anyone throughout the world who has suffered from generally terrible, heinous things.
P.S. Nice site and I enjoyed the pictures of what once was!!

Rating: Five stars. We will prevail! Terrorists have awakened the sleeping giant. With the US in the lead the world has cracked down on those gutless panzys. The US and world is a better safer place now. We will forever live with terror now, but we can curb its effects. Watching Bush's speech at the RNC shows he did not plan the WTC terrorist attacks like the conspiracy theorist above believes. NYC will move on stronger and build better towers like a symbolic New Jersey salute to terrorists, namely Osama and his girly friends HIDING in HOLES like cockroaches! I dare terrorists to fight like REAL men. May I remind all those who have such hatred for this country to remember that we have gone to war for the oppressed. Do you really think North Koreans are better off than South Koreans? Wait, South Korea is a Democracy, right? Russia is now a Democracy, isn't it? Russians on the whole are better off now, huh? Iraqis are not being murdered by their "beloved" dictator anymore, are they? Hitler didn't extinguish the Jewish race because of Allied help. Cubans still float over by the boat load. Oh, Cuba is still Communist. Japan is a peaceful leading world economy as well as Germany. Didn't the US occupy and foster these two, now great, nations!? Women can now experience life freed from Taliban oppression. Wow, and the hits keep on coming. May I also point out to all the nay-sayers that America is the SINGLE LARGEST donor of funds in the entire United Nations. America is basically funding research and prevention of the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Our citizens give more to the entire world than most 1st-world countries combined!! Those of you who wish harm or ill feelings towards America should shut-up and figure out how your country has benefited from the US. I'm POSITIVE it has. If it hasn't then you're probably still in the stone ages and can't possibly read this. If you are reading this then you've benefitted from American ingenuity, marketing, know-how and CHARITY! We may be hated but it's because we are so successful and all those whiners out there should grow up and try to make something of themselves like many Americans and Allies. Thanks and praise be to Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan and all our Allies. Love and best wishes go out to those in NYC who still suffer in some way from 9/11. I am, in no way, pointing the finger at ANY specific people or country but only at the individuals who chose to express an idiotic, uneducated, biased, childish and extremist ideal. Lastly, to those who hate America and the 1st world, back off and bury yourself so we don't have to help support you or your pitiful whining excuse of an existence!

I believe we should build the towers back and bigger. Our country has to stand strong against terrists. The new tower is a nice design, and we should have the two blue lights on every night from the new tower. Let us not forget the people who lost their lives to such a cowardly act. Let us not forget the many people who were lost while trying to help those trapped in the reckage. Please say a prayer everyday for their families.

I complete agree with Geoff Johnson above, the FRENCH have forgotten who rescued them from ruins of WWII. There would not be a France today otherwise. They have completely forgotten who saved their butts when they needed most and who is their real friend if not savior. Rebuilt to show our spirit and kick those that threatens our standing.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, I sat motionless on the couch, my mind reeling with the visions of horror unfolding in front of me on the television. To say it affected me is an understatement, but the shock I felt must surely pale in comparison to that of the people of NYC. To all the people of New York, I offer sincere condolences. Should the towers be rebuild? Definately! Should they be as tall? Absolutely! To do less is to admit defeat and let the Terrorist Bastards know they succeeded in instilling fear in us. The WTC towers, although plain, were simply beautiful, and should be rebuilt as they were originally. As for preserving the WTC site as a memorial park, I mean no disrespect for those who suffered the loss of loved ones, but it is sheer folly to allot a full fifteen acres of the most expensive real estate in North America to a memorial garden. A small memorial should be somewhere on the site, but not at the expense of letting Bin Laden & Crew claim a victory.

listen to all of you patriot yankees and other idiot media puppets of the world. DO you not realize what is going on? how the U.S government, the bush admininistration was responsbible for 9/11??? i dont think even the american pepople understand how evil bush is...he will kill his own people to acheive his own interests. In this case, afghanistan was the only way they could make some sort of HUB into asia, and now there in control of kabul, so close to china and russia, and the middle east and right on top of pakistan? a little ironic dont you think? i know what the taliban is all about, there a bunch of idiots...they could never come up with such a complex and difficult plan such a 9/11, the most they could ever do is strap bombs to their chests and blow themselves up, there ignorant and narrow minded...and honestly didnt have enough balls to pull of something this big...bush aministration on the other are the devil's advocates...go ahead...beleive what CNN tells you...beleive the images CNN shows you about palestinian peple celebrating on the streets...when infact those clips were not even taken after 9/11 just a way for the western world to instill a hate for the mid east countries...beleive the fabricated videos of osmama bin laden threatenting the world..those tapes are fake..he aint sayin anything..he dont care...im sorry for what happend yes...but your all supporting the person who killed your families...for his own personal interests...he cares nothing of freedom or democracy.

i think that it is a horrable thing that they could of done to the world trade center GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! The World Trade Center was the greatest set of buildings in the whole world and NYC is the greatest city in the world!I love what big skyscrapers represent about our country. The Towers must be rebuilt and I'm sure if a fund was provided for the average American to put up the cost rebuilding we would and I'd be the first to send in my check.America knows how to grow, improve, and move on. We also know how to remember, commemorate, and honor who and what we value most. May God bless our fellow peoples lost in the hateful acts. Enemy number one, Usama bin Laden, perhaps didn't realize the power and strength and resilience of the American people. We are the greatest nation in the world and the enemy knows it. Only a fool would attempt such a cowardly act against the people of America. And, perhaps, that same fool failed to realize that he wasn't killing only Americans, but the citizens of countless other nations. Our allies has banded together to fight terrorism. Let us do the same. god bless america if we all sticktogether we can do anythind

it is a very tragic incident that took place. Mean while it has also thrown up some new research problems with regard to behaviour of buildin during the fire. Research can be continued in this area I am optimistic that we will be able to work a solution at it. Hence We can take care of this problem in future high rise buildings and also if possible take precautions for the existing high rise buildings.

I was recently lucky enough to be able to visit the fantastic city of New York. Whilst there, my wife & I were unsure whether or not to visit the site of the World Trade Centre as we did not want to appear ghoulish. After much deliberation we decided that we couldn't go all that way & not visit the site of the most important & tragic events of recent history. Upon leaving the subway station we passed a churchyard around which people of all nationalities had left messages & tributes. Unbelievably, the churchyard was also surrounded by tacky souvenier stalls. When we acually reached the site itself we were met by the sight of people standing against the fencing smiling & posing for cameras with the raw, gaping hole of 'ground zero' behind them. We left soon afterwards. After seeing pictures of the New York skyline as it was & witnessing the skyline as it is now (from both the river & the air) I echo the sentiment that others have made on this site that there could be no more fitting tribute & no better sign that terrorism cannot be allowed to win than by rebuilding the twin towers as they were & restoring the downtown skyline.

Yes, these events were very tragic. However, American is all about moving on and standing strong. My personal opinion is that we should rebuild the world trade centers. Not just to "get back" at the terrorists, but to get back our way of life. How much office space did it say we lost? Alot! Of course we lost plenty of lives, too. Do you know what's going to happen to 99.99% of the rubble? It's going to be recycled. Used to build cars, buildings, heck even planes. Isn't that ironic? But noooo we want to use the 16 acre- "ground zero" as a memorial. That's not fair. Thousands of people escaped as well. What about their jobs? They lost their work space. They deserve to have it back. What I'm saying isn't that we should build it to be 200 stories tall (although that would be nice), but not use the muti billion dollar real estate as a memorial. It could be included on the new WTC. Maybe add on a few extra floors and put a memorial in them.

I am bothered by the"donated Funds" being distributed to other than those that they were meant for. From my understanding of Law concerning donations, this is an un-lawful practice. No wonder some organizations have complained of reduced donations, since 9-11. Personally ! We have stopped giving to civic organizations, due to these types of practices.

I am very dismayed by what happened to, not only New York, but to the US. It was a tragic event, and I hope that poeple, especially now, realize that peace is a precious thing, and we should not take that for granted. Although such an atrocity has happened, We should not result in war, but a peaceful means. I fear that WWIII is ivevitable; therefore the possible extermination of life on earth as a result of nuclear destruction. Please, not as a person, but a citizen as the world, do not use war as a tactic to get what is desired. As there, too, are innocent people in Iraq, and the rest of the world. Do not negate for what bad there is, but think positive for what good we have.

We must go on! We are the greatest country in the world, and acts like what happened on Sept.11 should never be left alone. It would be an injustice to let something like this go with out an answer back. I live near Boston but I quickly became a New Yorker on 9-11-01. I went to ground zero about a year later, with my wife and two daughters, and to see the look on my daughters faces when they saw the hole where the towers once stood along with the other buildings gave me feeling I will never forget! It's been more than a year since the attacks and yet the sensation the whole world gets when reminiscing that fateful day remains the same -- fear and hatred. However, i believe that more than any other physical edifice or structure or open space, the best memorial we can give to those who died on 9/11 is the SPIRIT OF MOVING ON. Of course, for those whose relatives passed away, moving on can take years. But it has to be done. We must show those terrorists that the FREE WORLD is not afraid of them. We might have lost lives. But we, through moving on, have given birth to more.

I want the twin towers and world trade center to be rebuilt because without those things in New York City, there is a huge hole in our world. i have been to NYC and it is really sad that anyone whould do something like this to the U.S.A. i feel really sad that anyone did this and for everyone who died in this terrist attack. It hurt's and it hurt's bad. I am not from NY but I was there a year before this happened and I love the city and always will. My prayers go out to the many who lost loved one's, the childern that lost parents, etc. I feel that the towers should not be built, nothing should go on that ground, it's a resting place for the people the perished on that horrible day, and people need to go to that area and pray for world peace and feel the presence of those lost there. A beauitful park should be built there where childern can go and be childern and where people can go and get peace of mind. NY is cluttered enough already as it is, let the businesses go elsewhere. God Bless you all.

WE MUST REBUILD!!!! New York as well as the USA has always been a symbol of freedom and power. The World Trade Center has always been a famous landmark. Ever since I was a kid and fell in love with the movie "King Kong", the WTC has had a special place in my heart. Not rebuilding these towers is telling the terrorist, "Yes, you win." I, myself do not want that. There is no reason why those two towers should not be rebuilt just the way they were, along with a big memorial for all the victims. There is plenty of space for all of that. New Yorkers are resilient, and people will go back and work in those towers once again, as long as the proper security measures are taken to ensure our safety. To me, the empty skyline will always be a constant reminder of one of the darkest days in US history. I'm not saying I want to forget the victims and their families; but I think if we rebuilt the WTC to stand just as tall and mighty as they were before, we would be honoring them in a way in which we can all hold our heads up high. Honoring them saying that they were proud to be New Yorkers and Americans. After all the courage they showed, don't you think they would have wanted that?

I LOVE AMERICA WITH ALL MY HEART. SEEING TERRORISTS DO THIS TO MY HOMELAND INFURIATES ME. NOT A SINGLE PERSON IN THE TWIN TOWERS DESERVED WHAT THEY HAD TO GO THROUGH. ALL THEY DID WAS GO TO THEIR OFFICE. OSAMA BIN LADIN WILL BE HUNTED DOWN AND SEVERELY PUNISHED FOR THIS TERRIBLE ACT. ONCE HE IS CAPTURED AND HIS LIFE ENDS HE WILL SPEND TIME IN A PLACE WHERE THE TERROR IS SO MUCH WORSE THAN CAN POSSIBLY BE IMAGINED. THE TWIN TOWERS ARE A POWERFUL SYMBOL OF AMERICA AND I STRONGLY BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE REBUILT TO SHOW TERRORISTS THEY DONT STAND A CHANCE AGAINST THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, AMERICA! America was attacked on September 11th, and that was an injury to all of us, when some of the victims start to blame United or American Airlines, the architects, and whoever else they can think of, that would be the insult added to the injury we sustained on 9/11/2001. There's only one element to blame for this and that's the terorists who committed this attrocity. I do feel for the victims and their loss, but put the blame where it belongs.

After visiting new york in march 2000 i had the great pleasure of being able to visit the world trade center. These towers were truly magnificent and stood proudly over a magnificent city. Some people may disagree but the towers should be rebuilt with a revised design. The skyline does not look the same without them, and i doubt anyone will ever get used to them not dominating the manhattan skyline anymore. I hope the day will come again when people will be able to stand again upon these towers again and look out over the wonderful city of newyork.

I still can't believe this happened to our country. But freedom will be defended and also they should build a memorial at the WTC site. I love NYC WE will defend freedom and bring the terrorists to justice. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND NEW YORK CITY

The September 11th attacks shook the foundation of our country and the principles of freedom it was founded on, but what's more disturbing are the stories I'm hearing now of the families of victims who are trying to shift the blame from the terrorists to the various entities from the architects/builders of the WTC, to Boeing and American and United Airlines. I share the grief of these people for losing their loved ones, but to file these multi-million dollar law suits, which I consider frivilous, certainly falls within the category of adding insult to injury to our country. Put the blame for the tragic events of 9-11-2001 where it belongs, Osama bin Laden, the Al-Qaida organization, and the terrorists who carried out these attacks.

I believe that NY needs some incredible skyscraper, so build something very high, don't forget about safety (certainly new techniques will make it possible). I loved much the essential design of WTC, but I don't believe that it should be rebuilt the same, also the place doesn't need to be the same. We cannot deny history. One or two high, geometric-shaped towers at NY-110 storeys or more-and a memorial for that incredible atrocity.

To the people in countries other than the United States who are criticizing the War in Afghanistan: Get a Life. When the Twin Towers were destroyed, this was an act of murder. A murder of nearly 7,000 innocent civilians. What do expect us to do - sit back and do nothing while thousands of lives were lost, and even more are grieving? This was the worst attack in US history. We can't sit back and do nothing. I know most countries are with us in the war of terrorism, but for those people who are against the action in Afghanistan, they need to understand that this action is desperately needed. Maybe if these attacks happened to you, you might understand. God Bless America and the World.

I Believe the World Trade Center should be rebuilt exactly as it was It would be the best memorial to the people who lost their lives, a living memorial. I don't want to see only a mounument because it would also be for the killers.

Build the world trade centre, bigger an better than before with a memorial at the bottom, also put anti-aircraft missils on the top which send out message warning lanes within a 5 mile radius that they will be shot out of the sky if they come any closer.

I feel the WTC should be rebuilt, at least as big, and better. And to all of you in third world nations who said the US had it coming, tell it to your facist oppressive leaders, maybe they'll give you a loaf of bread. Long live America.

Don't listen to that mongrel Charles Tanui who posted above. He's a complete moron, but what would you expect from the likes of him. Keep fighting the good fight, Americans. Know that we Aussies are with you standing side by side with you as we did in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and now.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! The World Trade Center was the greatest set of buildings in the whole world and NYC is the greatest city in the world! About rebuilding the World Trade Center... I think they should build it bigger and better than it was, it will symbolize that America stands against terrorism. I'm proud to be an American!!!

As much as we shall not let the terrorists terrify America forever, the twin towers shall not be rebuilt. Few people will want to go in them, and it will bring nothing but fear to those workers who have to. It will bring back too many painful memories, and the terrorists would probably try to destroy them on opening day. DO NOT REBUILD! MAKE THE SITE A MEMORIAL!

concur with the comment listed above about rebuilding the World Trade Center as it was! Although many architectural writers have been critical of its lack of detail, it can not be denied that is massing and setting in the NYC skyline was one of the most recognizable and beautiful sites in the world. Rebuild it the same, only 30 floors more!

I love what big skyscrapers represent about our country. The Towers must be rebuilt and I'm sure if a fund was provided for the average American to put up the cost rebuilding we would and I'd be the first to send in my check

Our parents had Vietnam, our grandparents, WWII. we have Operation Enduring Freedom. Let's be aware of our surroundings, get involved with our neighbors, keep in touch with our loved ones. In other words, let's be Americans. The World Trade Center may be gone, but I guarantee you all that the name and all that it stands for will always be remembered. For an indefinate time, we, and even unborn Americans will refer to the area where the buildings stood, as the World Trade Center. It angers and humbles me to see images of the Center before, during, and after the terrorists' attacks. Perhaps the most we can do and the best we can do is to love and respect our nation and to provide the greatest resource for our friends, neighbors, and families...enduring Love and Friendship. I suggest that New York keep the famous name but builds a better and more beautiful Center. America knows how to grow, improve, and move on. Let's be Americans! With Love, Frank D.

I can't believe this happened. Then again, who can? but why were they built so high? Now you're suggesting seven buildings half the height? it should've been thought of in the beginning. True, the way they looked before was majestic and attractive to the tourists and to the viewers but I think we had to be more logical and had thought about the pros and cons. This tragedy could have been avoided! But what's done is done. My heart goes out to those who lost people they loved. I was almost one of them. I was lucky but my heart broke for those who weren't as fortunate. I can't offer much but they have my prayers and well wishes.

I am still deeply saddened by the terrible attack on the World Trade Center. I was in New York only a few short weeks before the attack and I was so looking forward to going back and seeing the Towers. Now when I go back I will only see a void. I am all for rebuilding them bigger and better. We as a nation must prevail. We are AMERICA!

Boo Hoo Yankees. Go ahead spend billions subsidizing your socialist airlines, giving more powers to your government, go take more lives like you did in Dresden, Tokyo, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Vietnam, Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon. 47,000 Americans die every year on the highways in your country, but a mere village (5000) dies in the attacks and you froth at the mouths for revenge. Americans are rich, but they are as filled with hate as we Africans (US only non-3rd world country with death penalty). Give more taxes to the government, build your army bigger, turn your airports in to fortresses (cheaper for all americans to have own plane) and seek violence. What you do onto others will be done upon to you

I live in New Jersey and have been to the Towers a number of times in the past. Before the attack and murder I did not think too much about them. Now, I have the image in my mind of the planes crashing into them every day. It is disconcerting that the news media do not show these scenes anymore, perhaps so that we can forget how these murders occurred. I am not ready to stop mourning and I wish the media would stop obscuring the enormity of disaster. I don't want to know how we Americans "have ourselves to blame" for these horrific acts; anti-Americans are culpable for these atrocities and they are the ones who must pay the price for their actions. My motto is, "Remember the World Trade Towers".

The U.S. will, and already is, coming out stronger than ever from the horrible events of September 11. My thoughts on rebuilding the World Trade Center: Go for it! I think that if we don't rebuild, or rebuild smaller, than we are sending the wrong messages to terrorists. If we do rebuild smaller, than we have done what the terrorists want us to do - be afraid. I think we should rebuild one bigger tower, maybe 120 stories, but only have one tower, so if God forbid this happens again in the future, there won't be as many loss of lives, but, by rebuilding, we show the terrorists that we are a strong nation. God Bless America!

I think that the Twin Towers in NYC should be rebuilt, and that bin Laden should be captured, not killed in war, but brought over to the USA and show him that his acts could not topple the heart of America like he toppled the towers. Then he should be punished by making him suffer by pouring hot acid on his face and torturing him and put it on the TV so that the whole world can watch. If you shoot him it’s over he won’t feel a thing, so make him suffer.

I'm a Midwesterner. I've never been to NYC, but hope to visit there in the future. It hurts me that those plane- hijacking fanatics took advantage of the goodness to be found in the U.S., and repaid us with the destruction and murder they caused at the site of the WTC. I liked the idea of the light beams being placed where the WTC once stood, just to remind everyone, everywhere that the United States will always shine brightly on the stage of the world, and that although terrorism has mightily injured us, it will never completely destroy us.

I strongly disagree with all the weak people who feel that no buildings should be built and that the site of the WTC should be made into a memorial park. I'm not against having a memorial park, but we should not abandon building skyscrapers in our great cities. I was born a New Yorker and I will die a New Yorker. I feel the WTC should be rebuilt as it was maybe bigger and better. Only THEN! will we stick our resilience up the terrorist's ass'. It would be a greater tragedy not to stand tall and rebuild our most precious skyscrapers and pay homage to what once was and what will forever be.

My deepest sympathies goes out to the families of those who perished in New York, D.C, and Pennsylvania ( also those on AA Flight 587). Remember that they are in a better place now, away from this wicked world we live in. Also, remember that the U.S will make Bin Laden, and other terrorists pay. To N.Y, I say build the building like they were, but taller, bigger, and having more resources holding it up. If something like what happened on 9-11-01 happened, they would be able to withstand it. United we stand, and divided we fall. We are the best country in the world right now. God Bless America!!!!!!

Being a devout Brit, but massive fan of the USA, I strongly believe 2 new towers and surrounding buildings should be built to a new design, maybe bigger, but at least as tall. One, from a commercial point of view, but two, more importantly, to provide a symbol of strength and consolidation of America and the world in defiance against terrorism. My fullest respect to the families who lost loved ones and work colleagues in the disaster. God Bless America.

The twin towers are my favorite buildings in NYC and that is the only reason I go to NYC. The last time I went there was in July of 2001 with my cousin and my grandfather. We would go on top of tower #2 to look down from the top and see the city. I would like them rebuilt but taller than any tower in the world about 200 floors and to have walkways connecting the towers at each skylobby, but using the same design as the old towers.

It does matter to everyone when things, objects, or memories are destroyed, it will hurt and scar us for the rest of our lives. we must move on and learn from our mistakes as well as other's. if we were to build the twin towers again, someone will bring it down just like a child knocking down a tower of blocks. I have not lived on this earth long and i do not expect to live to see this happen again and i pray every day that the rain would stop falling ... forever.

I feel the towers should be built back. It would show strength and defiance. We must rebuild and move on. But, they should be bigger and better. They should also come up with a new design with a memorial in the plaza. The old design would be too haunting. But they MUST rebuild. No doubt about it.

Although I live in England and love my country very much, America is my favourite country. I have been to the U.S.A. many times on vacation to Florida, Ohio, California, Nevada, Illinois, and Washington, D.C. When the attacks on America happened I was shocked to see the Twin Towers collapse and the resulting huge loss of life. America must not give in to these terrorists. In England we have had terrorism for over 30 years, thanks to the I.R.A. but we have never let that dictate how we live our lives. To the people of New York and Washington, D.C.: Pick yourselves up and carry on. Show bin Laden and his scum that you can never be defeated. You must also rebuild the Twin Towers as they were. This would be the ultimate statement of defiance to the terrorists. I hope that the towers are rebuilt so that one day soon I can visit your great city, make the journey to the top of those great buildings and look out over your wonderful city. Having been to Chicago and been up to the observation deck of the Sears Tower I know what a thrilling experience this would be. So America, rebuild the towers. Not just for New York. Not just for America. But for the world. And remember that we here in England will always stand with you in this battle for freedom.

It is sad, that in order to express a belief in such a violent manner is something that we can't endure for any amount of time. We have to eliminate these kind of people in a civil manner. My wife and I were really shocked to see the amount of destruction on TV, living out here in British Columbia, Canada. I hope never to see this kind of human behaviour again in my lifetime, and I hope to live a long life. My thoughts are always with the people of New York and the rest of the USA.

I am still in shock of all that has happened. Two historical sights destroyed in one day, UNBELIEVABLE!!!! A piece of history gone forever, even if rebuilt to be exact as the old, it won't be the same. Plaque would read, here stands two tallest buildings that are replicas of the two old tallest buildings. Sight of twin towers should be turned into a memorial park for those who perished. And next to it, a sculpture of Bin Ladin with a cannon up his ass!!!!
