A nother of the great towers of the world, this one offers something most don't: a view of the Rocky Mountains. Sure, it's neat to look down at all the tiny cars and skyscrapers reduced to toys, but nature beckons on a grand scale just 50 miles to the west. Unfortunately, the tower also suffers from the same problem as other once-great towers. It is no longer the tallest building in the city, having been eclipsed by modern skyscrapers. While most of them are on the other side of town, it still diminishes the whole tower experience, but at least not to the extent of other cities where observation decks are being abandoned because they offer views of nothing more than office workers behind glass curtains. In addition to the observation deck, there are also restaurants and cafes, and a gift shop.
>There is a "torch" on top of the tower that is lit on special occasions. It was illuminated throughout the 1988 Winter Olympic Games.
>It takes 62 seconds to get from ground level to the observation deck in one of two elevators.
>If you don't like elevators, there are two staircases, each containing 802-steps.
>Standing on the observation deck, you are 4,030 feet above sea level.
