T hroughout western Canada the totem pole is a recurring symbol of the area's indigenous population. These sit in the heart of Vancouver: Brockton Point in Stanley Park. The park covers 405 hectares and contains other links to the city's past including canon fire every day at 9:00pm so ships can set their chronometers.
