F or a company that built a reputation of warm and fuzzy, Google's headquarters is unexpected. From the street it is a brooding, unfriendly mass. Further exploration of the campus, however, reveals the same idealized college scene created by a dozen other dot-com companies. Its buildings are mostly clad in glass curtain walls which occasionally features curves and the juxtaposition of differing geometric patterns for a little visual variety.
The Googleplex is spread out over a number of buildings across many acres of ground, surrounded by parking lots. It's a perfect environment if you're the sort of person who never outgrew the need to shop at a mall.
