Not a tower in the sense that the CN Tower in Toronto or the Donauturm in Vienna are towers, the Harbour Centre Tower's upper reaches are perched on top of an office building. This same arrangement was used in the construction of the World Trade Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. But unlike the New Orleans affair which offers views of the muddy Mississippi, barges, and chemical plants, Vancouver's Harbour Center shows off lush mountains and the sparkling Pacific Ocean. Naturally, there is a revolving restaurant and the obligatory shops for the tourists.
