This
is the home to Ontario's Legislative Assembly. For
more than one hundred years the laws affecting this
enormous province have been debated, approved, and
rejected under this roof. Its walls are sandstone
and the entire construction resembles some of the
older French-themed architecture of Ottawa, Montreal,
and other cities to the east. In addition to being
a piece of working history, the first floor of the
building is entirely devoted to history exhibits from
the near and far corners of the province. Like many
historic buildings, its history has become muddied
over time. Some still refer to it as "Queen's
Park" when that is properly the name of the grounds
that surround it.
A ghost has reportedly been seen descending the
grand staircase.
Apparitions
of three women have been seen -- one in a white
gown with long, streaming hair; asecond wearing
a checkered dress that covers her head; and a third
hanging from a hook in the basement.
A
ghost has reportedly been seen in the Legisaltive
Chamber.
The
figure of a man has reportedly been seen wearing
a soldier's uniform.
