To come upon a wall of green
Ivy spilling from every seam
and crack
and crevice
Evergreen spill
deciduous branches
scrape the windowsill
Summer in all its glory
on a ciy block
reaching 14 stories
Blanket of green
what a glorious scene!
Neither mortar
nor brick
nor pavement
nor stone
Prevent the green from
flourishing on its own.
