Several years ago I found a great website that had a panoramic (3-D?) view of the Chicago skyline, and one could zoom in on any section for a closer look. I am a fanatic about bookmarking sites, but I don't seem to have this on either of my computers. Can anybody post the link to this site, or at least tell me that they've seen it so I know I'm not losing my mind?

Interesting concept. I haven't seen one. The only equivalent I can think of right now is Google Earth.

Google Earth is pretty awesome for that stuff...I only have the free version, and I think on the paid version the buildings have textures on them...is that true?

I notice their product names have a lot of "Terra" prefixes.

I wonder if they are descended from the old TerraServer project.

For those of you who don't remember, TerraServer was the 1990's version of Google Earth. It was slow, but when it worked it worked pretty well. It was revolutionary at the time. I think it got eaten by Microsoft eventually, though.

I remember always wanting to order posters from Terraserver. I think that was one of their main revenue streams. You could focus on an area and they'd print it out and send it to you.
