I haven't seen all that much written about the new Spertus Institute building going up in the Michigan Avenue cliff. The design is great, so I'm surprised there wasn't a big uproar about it not blending in with the neighbors. Here's a rendering:



I've been watching construction from my kitchen for the last eight months or so, and I believe it's topped out already, so we should see some of that nice angular glass soon.

What reminded me of the building was an interesting note in Crain's. It says there will be a deli on the ground floor (badly needed in that area), and that it will be Kosher. Hopefully they'll serve all that great Jewish food I miss from New York.
