Hancock Center could be up for sale
August 10, 2006 - An iconic Chicago skyscraper could soon be up for sale. Crain's Chicago Business is reporting that the owner of the John Hancock Center has hired a New York real estate firm to study options, including a possible sale of the 100-story tower.
Shorenstein Properties bought the building eight years ago for $220 million. Some estimate the Hancock could sell for $350 million.
The potential sale comes just two months after Shorestein sold Prudential Plaza, which overlooks Millennium Park, for $470 million.
