In a recent post on the
Chicago Architecture Blog, I asked how people would improve Chicago's global stature.
Post your responses here.

There's not much the politicians and social do-gooders can do about Chicago. The problem is its people.
All they care about is drinking beer and sports. They sat back and watched the things accomplished 100 years ago disappear: Marshall Field's, Sears Tower, Frangos, Soldier Field, a dozen downtown department stores.
Chicago is a shell of its former glory. Mayor Daley wants to make it a great city again, but the unions that got him elected are now biting the hand that fed them. Chicago is collapsing under its own ignorance and will soon be a non-factor on the global stage.

Well, that and Chicago gets kind of boring after just a couple of years. Daley recognizes this and has been trying to combat it with the brazillion festivals and events all year round.
