Seoul Tower
Built: 1975
Designed by: Jong Youl Chang
Type: Tower
Maximum height: 777 feet
Observation deck: Yes
Location: Mount Namsan

Perched on a bluff above the city, Seoul Tower serves as both a telecommunications base and a tourist attraction. On a clear day, you can see 25 miles from the observation deck. Visitors are prepared for this view through the trip to the tower. The first part involves a cable car journey up Mount Namsan, then a 30-second elevator ride to the observation deck. Like other towers, it has had to diversify in order to continue attracting people, so not everything to see here is involved in height. You can plunge to the depths of the ocean by exploring the tower’s underground aquarium as well as the complex’s other museums.
