Like
other skyscrapers in Fort Wayne, this one is a banking
monolith. At 26 stories, it makes quite an impact
on the skyline. But its real impact is on the children
of the city. Every year, the building hosts a Christmas
light display featuring Santa Claus. When it was converted
from Fort Wayne National to National City, there was
much wailing and gnashing of teeth as people worried
that the larger corporate entity would do away with
their holiday tradition. After a US$4,000,000.00 renovation
of the first seven stories of the façade, Santa Claus
is back and things are right once again.
