Location: 401 Edwards Street

An admirable effort at taking what could have been a dreadful building and giving it a little spark. The Louisiana Tower could very easily be replicated with a child's Lego set. On its primary exterior faces, the windows are unusually long and not very tall, giving it the feel of a federal penitentiary. But that sin is mitigated by a group of setbacks that cut into the edge of the building, revealing not only a geometric form, but providing the interior with light. The windows in the cutaway section are noticeably taller than their exterior brethren. Imagine an office where people compete for the interior views, instead of the exterior ones.
